Performance Comparison of Routing Protocols Based on Different Models in Mobile Adhoc Network

چکیده
The main characteristics of Mobile Adhoc NETwork (MANET) are no infrastructure, no centralized administration and self-configuring networks. The primary motivation of MANET deployment is to increase portability, flexibility and mobility but, mobility causes an unpredictable change in topology and makes routing more difficult. Efficient dynamic routing is a research challenge in such networks. In this paper we have evaluated the performance of three protocols namely AODV (Adhoc On demand Distance Vector routing), DSR (Dynamic Source Routing) reactive routing protocol and DSDV(Destination Sequenced Distance Vector) routing which is a proactive routing protocol on the basis of packet delivery ratio and normalized routing overhead using NS-2 simulator. Four different models are created by changing few parameters of traffic generator file and scenario file like pause time, speed of mobile nodes, network size and number of maximum connections and the results demonstrate that the difference in the mechanism of routing protocols lead to specific performance variation. The selection of an efficient routing protocol thus depends on different parameters of the MANET.

Secure Routing Protocol: Affection on MANETs Performance
In mobile ad hoc networks, the absence ofinfrastructure and the consequent absence of authorizationfacilities impede the usual practice of establishing a practicalcriterion to distinguishing nodes as trusted and distrusted.Since all nodes in the MANETs would be used as router inmulti-hop applications, secure routing protocols have vital rulein the security of the network. So evaluating the perf...

Today, one of the new technologies in the modern era is Vehicular Ad-hoc Network which has takenenormous attention in the recent years. Because of rapid topology changing and frequent disconnectionmakes it difficult to design an efficient routing protocol for routing data between vehicles, called V2V orvehicle to vehicle communication and vehicle to roadside infrastructure, called V2I. Mobile Adhoc Network is a kind of wireless ad hoc network where nodes are connected wirelessly and the network is self configuring. MANET may work in a standalone manner or may be a part of another network. In this paper we have compared Random Walk Mobility Model and Random Waypoint Mobility Model over two reactive routing protocols Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) and Adhoc On-Demand Distance Vec...
متن کاملSimulation Based Performance Comparison of Adhoc Routing Protocols
Ad Hoc network is a collection of wireless mobile hosts forming a temporary network without the aid of any centralized administration, in which individual nodes cooperate by forwarding packets to each other to allow nodes to communicate beyond direct wireless transmission range. Routing protocols of Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET) use different approaches from existing Internet protocols because ...
متن کاملComparitive Analysis of Routing Protocols in Mobile Adhoc Networks
Mobile Adhoc Network (MANET) is a collection of wireless mobile nodes that dynamically form a network temporarily without any support of central administration. Moreover, every node in MANET moves arbitrarily making the multi-hop network topology to change randomly at unpredictable times. There are several familiar routing protocols like DSDV, AODV, ZRP, etc... which have been proposed for prov...
